As a consultant who works mostly from home, I often find myself in need of a change of environment for work. When my kids were younger, I usually had them in tow (and sometimes still do). My top requirements are a nice space with solid wi-fi and a pleasant atmosphere. Kid-friendly is a bonus.
If you are seeking a great place to tackle the day and possibly see some familiar faces, here are some Huntsville work spaces that locals and moms love!
Admittedly this is one of my faves. I can easily meet with clients without worrying about food allergies (I have sensitivities too, so double score). Kids get mac and cheese, popcorn, and cake pops, so they give it a thumbs up. I can also grab coffee and a treat if I am solo and just need a fresh take. The outdoor seating is lovely on days that weather permits.
Grab a cup of chai and the sausage balls if they aren’t sold out. Several seating choices and solid wi-fi make this an easy place to enjoy some joe. My kids love to bring a book and get some reading done while we are here. Also, I rarely come in without running into someone in my network!
This downtown fave is always packed, but offers lots of indoor and outdoor seating options and some delicious specialty drinks. It is a great place for meetings and seeing and being seen, plus it is super convenient to all that our lovely downtown has to offer. Kids will love the sweets case and the outdoor piano. If the wi-fi password hasn’t changed, it is my philosophy in life (you’ll have to visit to get it).
These aren’t the new kids, but they are certainly COOL. They have moved their delicious drip over to Mid City. Grab a cup and hit the upstairs seating area for a lovely view of the progress in that area. When kids are accompanying, I love the downstairs area with some space to play!
I live in Madison, so that happens to be one of my regular spots, but the library is a resource for everyone! I love books, so I can hit the used book store, check out some faves, and score a quiet workspace all in one location. With coffee, printing services, and folks to help you with research PLUS A PLAY SPACE, this free (unless you rack up fees like me or need to print) resource is GOLDEN!
Our friends in South Huntsville agree, this is the place to be! With a full menu, you can easily have a business luncheon and stay after to work. Have kids in tow? Ice cream drinks should keep them still long enough to answer those emails!
With delicious drip and funky decor, you can’t go wrong with this one. Kids will enjoy the outdoor seating on sunny days. Pack the crayons and coloring books and enjoy this long time Huntsville gem!
My kids say grab lunch from Happy Tummy, desert from Pizzelle’s, and drinks from Piper and Leaf. Bring a blanket and let the kids play on the green. Because of traffic, I do highly suggest staying close! This is a nice spot to enjoy some sunshine and some quiet. If solo, sit in the shade and enjoy some quiet contemplation. Get inspired as you gaze at Monte Sano!
Pack some puzzles for the kiddos (or headphones if flying solo) and check out the new kid on the block located inside Campus 805! Lucky Charms Latte? Yes, please!
Did somebody say cinnamon rolls? South Huntsville has another gem in this local roastery! Stop in to sit a spell or grab their delicious bean to brew at home at several of the local farmer’s markets!
